Me

Hello! My name is Adam Tunkiewicz and my goal is to become a software developer. My interest in development grew from my love of making things, playing with robotics, and using computers.

My first introduction to coding was with LEGO Mindstorms, which was a robotics set with drag and drop programming for multiple motors and sensors. This was the gateway drug that led to programming and playing with Raspberry PIs. This was also when I realized that programming was something that I enjoyed doing.

I had the opportunity to expand my knowledge of programming in high school where I was introduced to various programming languages and tasked to create many simple applications, this was where I considered development as a career.

Looking to learn more about this industry, I attended and graduated Conestoga College's Software Engineering Technology program and surrounded myself with many different people who shared the same interests as me. I was able to learn much more, ran a club and even won a contest.

Afterwards, I decided to attended Laurier's Computer Science program where I recently graduated. While this was at peak COVID time, I still had a fantastic experience with PEP, which is co-op, but for 16 months.

During PEP I had the opportunity to work with Geotab, the worlds largest telematics company, where I gained industry experience and learned more about software development on a large scale. I was tasked with real world issues and had my skills put to the test with various situations.

While I've always had interest in front end development and using creative designs to create unique experiences, I've recently been exposed to application development and enjoy working with it. Game Development is a very unique process for me as it allows me to combine so many different interests, such as coding, 3D modeling, level design, asset creation, animation and music making.

Ramen Tier List

I love ramen and one of the benefits of living in my area is access to a wide variety of ramen shops. Below I've compiled a list of the best/worst shops in my area. I recommand visiting the top locations on this list.

1. Gol's Lanzhou Noodle

Found on University Ave, this ramen shop offers a more tame atmosphere. The ramen is excellent and served in large bowls, but what places this ramen shop ontop of others is their option for handmade noodles which are hand pulled in shop.

2. Kinton Ramen

Located on King Street, this small ramen shop contains an upbeat and lively atmosphere. Its a place to visit for friends and to make conversation. They offer 3 types of ramen broth; pork, chicken and vegetarian. I recommand the spicy garlic pork ramen.
